First Song – You Are My Sunshine
I will not lie I struggled to practice this song. I have always been someone who gets things right away. School has always been somewhat of a breeze. Until college hit me like a brick wall moving towards me at about 1000km/h. I barely made it through last year but I made it here and changed my attitude, I relearned how to put the work in and honestly second year hasn’t been as bad as first year, except for this assignment. Not to bash your assignment Anita, I can definitely see the importance in it. I am just not a musical person. This assignment is the only one that I dreaded to work on until I learned my first song! I felt so proud of myself, I know it is quite simple and that I move at a slow pace but this was a big accomplishment for me and I am so happy (as you can see at the end of the video). The pride I felt after learning this song and getting it perfect for the video will definitely keep me motivated to learn the next songs! I hope you like it as much as me.
I also wanted to note that I sent this video to a friend before uploading it and she said my ukulele sounds out of tune but I double-checked before starting to record that it is in tune. This is how my ukulele sounds every time I play it after tuning it and I am not sure what to do. I am worried it sounds like this because I bought the cheapest one I could find. If this is the case I am not able to purchase a more expensive one and will have to make do with this one for the semester. Let me know if you have any suggestions!
